Pediatric Pelvic Floor Therapy
Helping your child find lasting relief from bowel and bladder challenges.
We understand how overwhelming it can feel when your child is constipated and afraid to poop on the potty, struggles to stay clean and dry, or just can’t seem to outgrow bedwetting.
Bowel and bladder challenges in kids are complex, and as a parent, it can be hard to know where to turn for help. That’s where we come in. We specialize exclusively in pediatric pelvic health, providing skilled support for children and families navigating these often misunderstood concerns.
Each of our individualized, 60-minute sessions is tailored to your child’s unique needs. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach—our therapists take the time to look beyond symptoms, uncover the root cause, and support your child through a whole-child, play-based approach. Through education, movement, sensory integration, and practical strategies, we help kids feel comfortable, capable, and confident in their bodies while building healthy lifelong habits.
Whether it’s feeling comfortable at sleepovers, joining activities without worry, or mastering potty training, we’re here to guide your child—and your family—every step of the way.

Understanding Pediatric Pelvic Floor Therapy:
Pediatric pelvic floor therapy is specialized care that helps children find relief from bowel and bladder challenges with the support of licensed occupational and physical therapists.
The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that support healthy bladder and bowel function. These muscles are influenced by a child’s growth and development, and their function is closely connected to how a child moves, regulates, and grows. When parts of this system aren’t working together as they should, children may experience symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction.
Kids aren’t just small adults—their milestones, posture, mobility, sensory and nervous system development all impact how the pelvic floor functions. That’s why it’s so important to work with a therapist who understands children’s unique anatomy, development, and norms around bowel and bladder function.
At OWN Pediatric Therapy, we do just that. Our practice is dedicated exclusively to pediatric pelvic health, looking far beyond the muscles themselves. Through a whole-child approach, we consider coordination, strength, sensory processing, posture, nervous system regulation, and daily routines to uncover the root cause of your child’s challenges.
For us, pediatric pelvic floor therapy is about creating lasting change—helping your child build healthy habits, confidence, and lifelong comfort in their body.

Each child’s story is unique — and so is our approach. Whether your child is struggling with potty training, constipation, accidents, or pain, we focus on uncovering the root cause and creating a personalized plan for lasting success.
What to Expect During Therapy:
We work closely with your family every step of the way. Using a trauma-informed, play-based approach, we tailor our treatments to your child’s unique needs. Through play and engaging activities during our 1 hour sessions, we may focus on:
Strength & coordination
Balance
Posture & alignment
Sensory processing
Primitive reflex testing & integration
Breathing & airway function
Nervous system regulation
Healthy habits & routines
Toileting mechanics
Pelvic floor or “potty muscles” relaxation & strengthening
We also use techniques such as:
Soft tissue mobilization & abdominal work
Myofascial release
Biofeedback
Individualized home programs
Unlike adult pelvic floor therapy, which may involve internal assessments or treatments, pediatric therapy does not. With your child’s and your consent, we may perform an external examination of the pelvic floor muscles to assess their function. Your therapist will thoroughly explain this process and answer any questions you may have.
